Sdkfz. 251/1 Hanomag
Halftrack "Stuka zu Fuss"

In stock!
|
The most strange looking of all Sd.Kfz. 251 Versions is now available!
This Sd.Kfz. 251 was nicknamed "Stuka
zu Fuß" , because of the pressure wave it caused when firing,
which killed everything. A launcher unit usually fired 480 rockets at
one strike, which is 24000kg of explosives detonating in the target
area within 30 sec.! A real Inferno.
The system, consisting of wooden or steelframes attachted to the outer hull of the Sd.Kfz.
251, was as simple as effectiv. Aiming was reduced to the angle
and the some how exact direction. The mass of rockets fired in one
direction at once did the rest and were capable to destroy landscapes
when fired in a grid. Which could be very effectiv if needed.
The rockets where made in diameters of 28 and 32 cm and been fired
directly from the wood or steel made transportation containers. Only
limit to firepower was the time needed to
change the containers and the logistics delivering them in time. In
opposite to barrel guns there was no need to watch the temperature of
the barrel at all!
