The
TBF-1 Avenger was the first Torpedo Bomber of the US NAVY in WWII and
eraned fame in the Battle of Midway. The TBF-! Avenger was carrier based
and able to drop bombs or a single torpedo against vessels. It
operated in the Pazific Theater quite good.
The crew consisted of 3 men. One Pilot, 1 Gunner and 1 Radio
Operator/ Wapons Operator. The TBF-1 was armed with one turnable gun
turret equipped with a single cal.0.50 MG and another MG faceing
backwards in a lower fuselage pit. The Avenger could carry a tropedo or
a bomb of same size.
The wings could be flaped sidways for saving space on the carrier
vessel. Because of its size and weight, due to the large crew and
payload, the single engine Avenger was at its limits. Its size and
weight met the limits of WWII Carrier Vessels too.
The model is equipped with retractable landing gear with rubber tires,
foldable wings, detailed cockpit and turret, a openable bomb bay with
torpedo and canopy.
Also a detailed pilot figure is included.

Modellers
who miss something on this highly detailed model are free to add more
detail on there own. What is great on these models is they are not
avaliable as kits in this scale at all and would be as expensive
whitout beeing built too.
So all models are made from plastic and be fixed with screws or
superglue, they can be easiely disassambled and converted or detailed
even more!
A
profi modeler will convert this model to a superior masterpiece easiely.
The soldier figures are of the same size like for example the commander
of the Tamiya King Tiger RC-Tank. Which means they are almost the same
scale. Eather 1/16 or 1/18 scale? How ever they can be shown side by
side with other models in 1/16 scale whitout sowing the difference to
much.
The enclosed soldier figures are of high quality in design and painting
and need not to be redone. Who dislikes the moveable armes and legs may
glue them in position and paste the seams with putty.
Most customers will like the model like it comes from the box and who
hasn't the skill or time to modify the model gets a great model for a
great price! |
